In his book, Weight Loss Plan Review, Kevin Trudeau calls the HCG diet an 'absolute cure for obesity, discovered almost fifty years ago by a British medical doctor.' He goes on to assert that 'tens of thousands of people have used this simple, inexpensive, safe medical treatment and achieved miraculous, fast, and permanent weight loss. Stubborn area fat deposits melted away. Body reshaping of the hips, thighs, buttocks, and waist was so dramatic it appeared as if the patients received liposuction! Now, for the first time in fifty years, this revolutionary breakthrough discovery, which permanently cures the condition of obesity, is being released to the public.'
There are three types of fat, the structural, normal and abnormal. It is this latter abnormal fat, e.g. belly, hips, thighs and upper arms that the HCG Weight Loss Plan targets.
Here is what has been reported following completion of the HCG Diet Plan:

What is HCG?
HCG stands for Human Chorionic Gonadotropin, a hormone naturally produced by the placenta of pregnant women to regulate the metabolic function through the hypothalamus. However, HCG for the Weight Loss Plan is derived in laboratories from sterile cells. It is not extracted from women.
A detox is recommended before starting your HCG diet. Choose the way of detoxing most acceptable to you. Here are some examples; they are not all mutually exclusive.
Take daily exercise to your best ability, e.g walking or swimming.
Abstain from alcohol, tobacco, refined sugars and saturated fats.
HCG is not effective during the menstrual cycle. So, wait until immediately afterwards, or start with the HCG drops at least 10 days before the next, and taking none during the period.
A 2oz bottle is intended for the 23 days.
The 500 calorie/day HCG Diet:
Phase 1 (1st & 2nd days):
From now and throughout the diet take oil free multivitamins daily. Take the HCG drops as directed. Increase water intake. Eat as much as you want of anything. This is to prepare you for the 500 calorie/day diet. The HCG takes some 48 hours before becoming effective.
Phase 2 (3rd to 23rd days):
Weigh yourself every morning. Losing 1lb a day is average, depending on your starting weight. Take before, during and after pictures.
You will feel hungry for up to seven days.
Diet:
Breakfast: As much of, but only: black coffee or green tea, or yerba mate tea, or wu nong tea, or chamomile tea.
Lunch: 115gms of one of the following, weighed raw and grilled without oil or fat: beef, or skinless chicken breast, or sea bass, or sole or halibut.
And 150gms of one of the following: spinach, chard, lettuce, celery, fennel, onions, radishes, cucumbers, asparagus or cabbage. These can be eaten raw, steamed or lightly boiled.
One small apple or grapefruit, or a handful of strawberries. Do not eat fruit at the same time as meats. Take them at least either 30 minutes before or 2 hours after.
For seasoning, fresh lemon juice, pepper, cider vinegar, sea salt, garlic, basil, parsley, thyme or other herbs. No oil or butter dressing and nothing else.
Dinner: As the list for lunch, but do not repeat anything on the same day
Do not do/take/use any of the following:
Non prescription medicines, cosmetics, skincare, e.g lotions and creams.
Do not miss a meal, and each should comprise protein, vegetables and fruit being taken at least 30 minutes before or 2 hours after.
Phase 3 (24th to 27th days – up to 42 days):
Phase 3 requires 3 weeks. At this point, stop taking the HCG. You can adjust your menu to eat normal, healthy foods as long as they do not contain sugars, artificial sweeteners and starches. Fast foods and trans-fats are strictly prohibited. Limit cold drinks.
Phase 4
This is the maintenance phase You have successfully reached your HCG diet goal. Continue with your new lifestyle complete with healthy dieting habits and a new relationship with food. This is when your hypothalamus resets itself for a new body weight.
